The Inkterviews

Episode 1 with Tann Parker

Tann Parker (they/she) resides in Brooklyn, NY & is the founder of social movement Ink the Diaspora. Centering visibility of darker & brown skin tones, the platform is designed to uplift representation among both artists & clients. From working as a tattoo consultant to now beginning a journey as a handpoke tattooer, Tann calls on change within the industry as a living example. In this interview, we talk about their story, artistic decolonization, reparations & the future of creative community.

Episode 2 with Yazzie Mojo

Energetically tuned body artistry & Motivational music

"I would say that people who want to build a community & help people should definitely face themselves, their past, their childhood, & their habits." ~ Yazzie Mojo

Welcome back to another edition of the Sacred Pokes Ink•terview Series! Today we’ll be exploring body art from the perspective of Yazzie Mojo, a multifaceted Philadelphia artist with a heart of gold. Yazzie & I met in 2018 within the community, excited to commune over shared ideas of transformative tattooing. Today, they’ve grown into their practice greatly, continuing to serve a radiant bag of tricks in their artwork that keeps us all inspired. Yazzie also does graphics for GLBL VLLG (Global Village) & merges their mission with musical expression. Let me introduce you to their passion, talent, & fluency of creative connection...

Episode 3 with Julay of Sacred Spirit Ink

Julay (they:she) is a queer batok tattooist residing on Coast Salish territory, representing an ancestral background of Meycauyayan Bulcan, Solsona Ilokos Norte, & Beits Pampanga. They are a parent, multi-dimensional artist & trauma worker through the gateways of creative energetic healing. Julay carries forth the strength, softness & sanctuary within holistic tattooing for folks to discover its medicine via non-binary, femme & trans Spirit.
