Sacred Canvas is an art and alternative medicine collective that through Craft, aligns holistic care with education. Culture, inspiration and passion infuse interdisciplinary visual, musical, and clinical creativity.
We are a collective of creators, ritualists, chosen family and care providers who come together for transmutation. Most often, our work is based from Lenape ancestral and Massachusett land, though we are unbound to just one place. Through events, vision, offerings and services, we activate our mediums.
Our collective shares the work and play of queer, BIPOC, neurodivergent and disabled creatives: seeding passion and community wisdom. We are guides, certified consultants, health coaches and support network Allie’s; not therapists or medical doctors, unless stated. First and foremost, we are Artists. Advocacy Arts, or support through creative expression, drives our forces of healing and spiritual exploration.
Polaroid photography by Vivica, the Flower That Drank the Moon.
Family members Enx (“enkh”) and Vivica are our event curators and primary artists. Catch us at pop-up healing centers, markets, art shows and cultural gatherings. Behind the scenes, we write zines together and compete in making the best fridge magnet poems. Our free time is spent plotting the next creative genius to publish for your enjoyment.
Vivica Shale (she/they) creates as the Flower that Drank the Moon - creating via film photography, beadwork, abstract painting and poetry. My background could be poetically compared to a lotus from the mud; reworking stale identity structures with artistic expression has been my dichotomy. This lead me to a life of finding meaning in every stroke or sway. My passion is seeding the inspiration. May your winds spread that medicine, whichever way enriches + nurtures.
Enx is a queer activist, painter, writer + parent from Lenapehoking, where they began their practice of ritual study inspired by the land. He is an ordained priestess, art meditation teacher, + loves to learn about plants + language.
